At least around 100 of my neighbors and I came and did public comments speaking against the ongoing County (not City) Building Permits… County Permits that do not exist anywhere in Arkansas except for Benton County. And 9 of 15 – Justices of the Peace (JP), including our own District 1 JP Jeff Dunn, chose to ignore all of us, and voted to keep County Permits. So I chose to tell the tale of what happened to me, and how I now see Benton County trying to be like California! STOP. Here is my speech to the Quorum Court on September 28, 2023.

Absolutely we can revive this topic, we only lost 6 to 9. If we get at least 2 real constitutional conservatives on the Quorum Court, we will bring this topic up again. Moreover it won’t be brought up as a health or safety issue related to fire-code (which it never was), it will be directly revived as what it is… an infringement on the rights of all residents who chose to live outside the city limits. Benton County is one of only two counties in all of Arkansas to implement this building inspection scheme paid for by fees on Benton County residents who live in the country. The only thing this building inspection division does do, is gives help to Building Contractors who do not know how to build things to code, we are effecting paying for permits – to teach lousy building contractor staff how to do their jobs. Everywhere else in Arkansas lousy Building Contractors do lousy work and get turned in to the Arkansas State Building Inspectors and they loose their license.
