Representing Benton County at the Republican Party of Arkansas (RPA)

Had the pleasure of being asked to carry a proxy vote for Benton County to the Republican Party of Arkansas, for the December 2nd, 2023 – Winter State Committee Meeting. It’s certainly a lot of driving round trip to Little Rock, and people always seem surprised when I say – YES – I would be happy to drive down and represent Benton County at the State Capitol – why do I do it? Simple, if County and State officials know each other – problems get solved.
I’ve seen too many times in the past where problems just get passed back and forth, things are different when people know each other, and can make a phone call, or send a message, or write an email… and they trust the other person can help resolve issues. This is also what I think of being – for the people; our families, our neighbors, and our elected officials; we need to work together – this world has plenty of problems, let’s solve them.
And no that was not my white cup on the desk, but I finished the event by helping cleanup. Amusingly it was RPA Chairman Joseph Wood and I making sure the place was tidy before we left, great to see state leaders who are still ready to cleanup a room before they leave.
Oh and yes, couldn’t miss out on getting a picture with my two favorite Presidents, even if they were made of cardboard! hah!
